It's my favorite of theirs!
I HATED chemical romance growing up. I was a crust punk, so that shit to me was weak. But as i got older, Ive gotten alot more into deftones and post hardcore. I get why emo kids didnt like foundations of decay. BBEcause the band has evolved. From what ive learned about them, they never considered themselves emo. So it makes sense the stuff they release now, follows the trend of emo and hardcore bands from the time they were main stream. They all became metal heads, thrash/ hardcore, or post hardcore. Case and point mahumodo and *Shels. IMO, MCR should make a post hardcore album. It would show their maturity and their depature from the emo aesthetic, and into something more mature and respectable. Foundations of decay is probably one of the best post hardcore songs ive ever heard. and i hope their next album, is nothing but shit like that. I like a few of their old songs. But the majority are corny focused on high school drama and shit. Those guys are too old to be creating stuff like that. Shit I would be too old to be making crust punk. Id rather be playing darkwave now or deathmetal. So i think its cool the fans didnt like foundations of decay, cause it means the band will release more mature sounding music, with larger themes, and a more epic direction. Foundations of decay is sick, its the song that got me to finally check the band out. And frankly, I think its sad when 30-40 year old grown ass adults cry because something isnt emo enough. Id be happy the band is making any music. ITs like the difference between old afi and new afi. Alot or people, including me, wish they wuld return to their sing the sorrow, and art of drowning days. Speed up themusic, get darker, and more absstract. But I also realize, those guys are no longer the same kids who made those albums. They have kids, probably grand kids now. Theres literally no reason to go back to that, when the market has changed, the distribution model has changed. Music no longer needs to be marketed for a specific audience. The music, markets itself, and the scene is whoever knows about it. In fact id say there is no more "scenes" Just clusters of audience members who are into what they are into, and theres no real boudaries anymore. I used to limit my musical tastes because of how i wanted to be percieved. But being older, you no longer have a peer group to answer to, to judge you. Had I listened to chemical in high school, I would of been exiled from my hardcore punk band. So yea, Im ready for the chemical post hardcore album. Anyone who doesnt like the song, I invite you to check out more post hardcore. Deftones basically created the sound. Deftones, *shels. These guys are two of my all time favorite post hardcore bands. even though deftones isnt post hardcore, the music inspired that style. So consider it PRoto post hardcore.
Could daughtry or nicklebach be involved possibly cause id like it
Its gonna be great i know it
i loove remo drive but i also dont really enjoy them at sll
I got a chance to see them a few weeks ago after not knowing them whatsoever and my jaw was on the floor their entire set!
Dude, you have one of the best takes I’ve heard about tx2 anywhere on the internet
thanks for the kind words!
Well, Gerard is all about the Umbrella Academy these days, isn't he? Am I old?
Magnolia park is in it and they did I2I and it wonderful go check it out.
Totally a huge era for pop punk! Personally, it's my least favorite era though. I really don't like the production of most of the music from that time. Plus the music itself sounded very simple to me. I like what a lot of the genre started doing in the 2010s by adding a little more advanced music theory so we'd get a wider/subtler range of emotions.
i am 15 and i love it
hi! proper dose got me into the story so far. :)
I think I'd like to point out an emo classic ryan ross in-between a fever u can't sweat out and welcome to the sound of pretty odd completely shifted it and everyone was here for it yk?
Don't forget the Pop Songs EP! I think that was a tighter version of what they were doing on Greatest Hits. That's also when Epitaph signed them, and I always wonder how Epitaph felt when they heard what LP2 was going to sound like. I'm pretty sure they were signed because of the sound and the audience reaction of LP1. Personally, I like LP2 the best these days! ❤
Love pop songs. I talk about it in the full video. Thanks for watching!
this is rage bait right?
Mgk yungblud olivia rodrigo 💯
Liked & subscribed because you said Water Buffaloes is a top 5 FOB song.
2:08 This Addiction vinyl in the background. Such an underrated album.
Man, thanks for making this video. In 2004 my best friend gave me a Good Charlotte and Simple Plan album for my 13th birthday, my life was forever changed. Fast forward 20 years and I've just seen Simple Plan supported by Boys Like Girls and We The Kings, and it was amazing. I'm so thankful to have been in my youth when this music was at its peak
DUDE ARE YOU REALLY RANKING ENJOY YOUR DAY OVER HELP ME
Mickey looks great
I really want Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas to do a reimagined version of this is me from camp rock because that song is my childhood and i luv it so much🥲 But I'll have to wait and see for the tracklist for Disney a whole new sound to come out
Green Day released 21st Century Breakdown in 2009, and I’d argue that was still very mainstream.
You mention the Ramones as pop punk but they were around before the hardcore punk bands you mentioned and referred to as just punk
where’s so wrong it’s right by atl??
California is a brilliant album & Nine is miles better than One More Time
Um......Simple Plan punk? Fuck no
I like long songs though unless i f***ing hate the song. If its one of my fav songs i would be a bit disappointed when its over
Heard red sun is a cool band….
It was actually predictable and it built up to not catchy endings more often than not
I’ll say even tho saviours for me personally was a bit hard to really get into but once I heard it a few times I was reminded of green day simple and catchy I lost interest after hearing 21st century breakdown and the trilogy but liked revolution Radio hated father of all but at least saviours you can have fun to
Neoncore was really the death nail for the genre. It was wayyyy too sanitized and it was directly aimed at the 12-15 year old demographic. I teach middle school and let me tell you, once something that was cool with high schoolers starts to be cool with middle schoolers, the party is over. I think that's why we saw the new wave of pop punk/emo/midwest emo bands from the revival phase become more experimental, heavier and less concerned about mass appeal. Plus, by that time streaming had taken over and music genre stratification really took hold. Sub-genres are key now.
11:10 WHY DID IMMEDIATELY THINK OF FRANK IERO HITTING THE GRIDDY 💀
love your videos, but DUDE MCR ISNT EVEN TECHNICALLY EMO 😭 they’re just mcr
Jake webber isn't emo he's punk Johnnie is the emo one
It was cool when Sublime, No use and Pennywise were on the bills then it went to shit with dumbass metalcore bands
You're braindead
christk
Why long songs are considered a bad thing? Wtf!??! And I consider that Danger Days by My Chemical Romance have a bunch short time songs, even the first song have 3 min or something. The Black Parade has songs with longest time and here we are. God bless you all
saw jake in the thumbnail and was about to throw hands but im glad u can see that jake and johnnie have been pretty good for the scene, with jake obvi being less emo inspired and more punk inspired. But yeah they are making these genre's less niche which is probably better for the scene overall. Jake's voice is actually pretty nice so I'm excited to see where he will go in the future. I agree ecstasy is a banger, but I also think animal is my favorite solo song of his
Dont forget the descendants
I didn’t discover TX2 on TikTok (because I don’t have TikTok) I heard of him through my friend when he was still releasing songs like DROP DEAD and TRUST NO ONE so I wasn’t aware until recently about his large controversy of him being a poser and stuff but the thing is that he’s been in the scene for a long time since 5th grade and he even said it himself on one of his lives where he said posers don’t exist the only way to be a true poser is if ur lying about something also no one ever talks about the fact that he’s building a whole community on Discord called the X movement trying to let people vent and be able to speak about their experiences because he wishes that he had that when he was younger and his dream is to make a hotline and have festivals someday
How the fuck are you going to have the tssf and knocked loose on the thumbnail and then don't talk about them
TX2 released a album last year ?
That three cheers in the thumbnail got me to click on it. But danger days is underrated
Nice pfp
@@EraserHead_Fire_Walk_With_Me thanks
The glaring omission of Scarlet Bandit’s Lose Your Blues is WILD
Saw alkaline trio and seeing sum 41 and tssf later this year
Attifical bouquet reminds me of the number twelve looks like you old grind core
